Excitement
In the tenth installment of Before and After, I had the task to add excitement to an image. I selected the "Newton's second law" image because while the image does a good job explaining the second law of motion, the image is very dull due to a white background and basic text.
Therefore, in order to add excitement to the after image, I decided to first utilize shapes to make the steps stand out for the after image. I utilized a seal shape for the first and second step, and a banner for the third step. Additionally, the force of engine and the force of weight was indicated by a seal shape. A new picture replaced the old rocket ship because the old image was boring- this image shows how the thrust of the rocket ship engine deals with the force of gravity when taking off for a mission to space. The new image provides a better visual for the learner to understand how these forces are interacting with each other.
I decided to keep the title with text since I did not want too many shapes to interfere with the comprehension of the steps. Numbers of the steps were kept to help the learner sequence the second law of motion. Furthermore, this image complies with the the rule of thirds- title, steps one and two, and step three are in three rows. Finally, the background was in a night pattern overlay, which contrasts nicely with the warm orange color in the steps.
