Instructor: Arthur Infantino
Student Practice Activities
During the lesson, students were asked at each station to watch a video and then play educational games at the Interactive Whiteboard. At one station, students watched a brief video on Cell organelles from Brainpop and played Sheppard Software Cell games on Animal and Plant cells. Another station students watched a brief video from Flocabulary on Cells and played "Cells, Cells, They're made of Organelles" and "Organelles of a Cell" on TinyTap. These activities required students to interact with the Interactive Whiteboard, and use their mental knowledge to answer questions or select the correct answers during the TinyTap/Sheppard Software portion of the lesson. Practice was completed by repetition of programs on TInyTap or Sheppard Software.
Feedback
The videos provided feedback when a student answered a question. Instructors commented when a student got a concept right or wrong when using TinyTap and Sheppard Software. Instructors assisted students when they got a concept wrong several times in a row on either TinyTap or Sheppard Software.
