Select Strategies
In this lesson, the rotation model with station rotation was selected because students need to complete all activities. The students do not have individualized plans as in the individual rotation model. The lesson has hands on learning and video opportunities. Furthermore, this lesson incorporates videos to clarify the activity, interactive whiteboard activities which are hands on to engage the learners on the concepts of cells, and finally a poster-board activity to draw and label parts of a cell. Many different learning styles are utilized in this lesson.
Select Resources
Technology and Media. This lesson has videos from Brainpop and Flocabulary with quizzes. Also, the lesson has Interactive Whiteboard activities from Tiny Tap and Sheppard Software. The following guidelines were utilized to see the relevance of my Technology and Media choices:
Poster-board. This activity was selected because the students enjoy doing project based learning.
Select Materials
I made appropriate choices for the lesson because I based the materials on the student's interests. The students enjoy quick videos, hand-on activities, and project based learning. I was able to select the materials or modify the materials to the objectives of the lesson.

- Alignment with standards, outcomes, and objectives. The software provided the experiences necessary for my students to obtain mastery on the learning objectives.
- Accurate and current information. The information was aligned with the current content in Science. The instructor reviewed each software to ensure its accuracy.
- Age-appropriate language. The website videos and experiences were designed for students at the middle school level. Sheppard Software is for elementary students, but it has value at the middle school level.
- Interest level and engagement. Brainpop was designed for middle schooler audience, Flocabulary has a catchy tune which relates well to the student's interests. Tiny Tap and Sheppard Software are interactive hands on tools to engage learners.
- Technical Quality. All websites have great technical quality.
- Ease of use. The websites are easy to access for students and teachers with passwords or searching on google for access.
- Bias free. All websites do not discriminate.
- User guide and directions. In all websites, user guides and directions are available for teachers and students if necessary.
