General Characteristics:
The three students in this class are between the ages twelve to thirteen years old. All students have Individualized Education Plans, and all have deficits in reading and writing instruction. One student has speech therapy as a service. All students are from low-income socioeconomic environments, are African American, and qualify for free lunch. Generally, these students are not well-behaved, and typically do not like worksheet or textbook work. Looking at Science test scores, the students rank below average compared to the rest of the school.

Learning Styles:
The students learn best by hands on activities or project based learning. Therefore, these students enjoy bodily activities where they can manipulate content with their hands such as activities on the interactive whiteboard. Furthermore, the students enjoy games that they can learn with the content and can become very competitive if a game involves a reward. Students are motivated to learn by extrinsic snack motivators, but learning intrinsically is not a priority due to the conditions where they come. Additionally, they are always hungry, which affects their mood.

- Navigate the internet and search for items.
- Print pictures.
- Cut pictures and make posters.
- Read for short periods of time.
- Touch and utilize the interactive whiteboard.
